This Privacy Policy explains how AURAS ("AURAS," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal data when you use the AURAS mobile application and related services.
By using AURAS, you agree that we may process your information as described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account and authentication data, such as your internal user ID, public support user ID, Sign in with Apple identifier, sign-in method, registration time, and last login time.
- Profile and setup data, such as your nickname, practice language, proficient language, and related onboarding confirmation data.
- Profile photos you choose to upload, used to display your avatar.
- Device push notification tokens and reminder preferences, used to deliver optional practice reminders.
- Voice and conversation data, such as microphone audio transmitted during live practice, AI and user conversation text, bridge explanations, saved words or sentences, and related conversation metadata. AURAS saves conversation text from valid practice sessions, but does not store practice recordings.
- Practice data, such as practice duration, conversation turns, Favorites count, practice result summaries, language-specific saved content, model and prompt configuration versions, and your membership status at the time of practice.
- Login metadata, such as recent login time, IP address, approximate country or region derived from network information, and recent device model where available.
- Limited technical and security data, such as app version, device and operating system information, request timestamps, connection status, crash data, performance data, basic error logs, and security logs.
- Communications data if you contact us directly.
AURAS requires microphone access for real-time voice practice. AURAS does not need access to your contacts, photos, precise location, health data, or calendar for its core service.
2. How We Use Information
We use personal data to:
- provide, operate, and maintain AURAS;
- authenticate users and manage accounts;
- enable real-time AI voice practice and conversation continuity;
- generate and display conversation text during practice, save text from valid practice sessions for language learning and service analysis, and provide Favorites and practice results;
- store and apply your nickname, practice language, and proficient language settings;
- personalize language practice difficulty and bridge support within the product experience;
- secure AURAS, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot issues;
- maintain service reliability, diagnostics, and performance; and
- respond to support, account, or privacy requests.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data for cross-app or cross-site targeted advertising.
3. Voice, Conversation Text, and AI Processing
AURAS processes microphone audio in real time so that AI systems can understand your speech and respond during language practice.
AURAS generates and displays conversation text during practice. Once an AI turn has received a user reply, the practice is valid and its user and AI conversation text is saved for language learning and service analysis. Conversation text from practice without a user reply is not retained after the session ends.
Microphone audio is processed for real-time conversation. AURAS does not store practice recordings. Conversation text awaiting synchronization may be held securely on your device and uploaded in the background. AURAS also stores account data, settings, Favorites, practice results and summaries, diagnostics, security records, and support communications where applicable.
AI-generated responses may be processed by third-party AI service providers, such as Google Gemini Live or another provider selected for AURAS voice practice. These providers process data as needed to provide AI conversation and related services to AURAS.
4. Legal Bases for Processing
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction that requires a legal basis for processing, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases:
- performance of a contract, when we need the data to provide AURAS to you;
- legitimate interests, including securing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving AURAS, where those interests are not overridden by your rights;
- consent, where required for microphone access, optional settings, or other optional processing; and
- compliance with legal obligations, where applicable.
5. How We Share Information
We may share information only as needed to operate AURAS, comply with law, or protect rights and security.
AURAS may rely on third-party service providers such as:
- Apple, for Sign in with Apple and App Store distribution;
- Google or another AI service provider, for real-time AI voice conversation and related model processing;
- backend hosting, storage, and infrastructure providers, for account data, product data, logs, security, and service operation; and
- professional advisors or authorities, where required to comply with law or protect rights.
These providers process information only as needed to provide their services to AURAS or as otherwise permitted by their agreements and applicable law.
6. International Data Transfers
Your personal data may be processed in countries other than the country where you live. Where required by applicable law, we will use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
7. Data Retention
We retain personal data for as long as reasonably necessary to provide AURAS, maintain security, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
Retention periods may vary depending on the type of data. For example, account data and saved practice content may be retained while your account remains active, while diagnostic and security logs may be retained for a shorter period unless needed for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or dispute resolution.
Saved conversation text from valid practice is retained while your account remains active and is removed from active systems when you delete your account. AURAS does not store practice recordings.
If you delete your account through the in-app deletion flow, we will delete your account data from active systems within a reasonable period, except where limited retention is required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, abuse-prevention, dispute-resolution, or backup purposes.
8. Your Choices and Rights
You can request deletion of your AURAS account through the in-app account deletion flow.
You can control microphone permission through your device settings. If microphone permission is disabled, real-time voice practice will not function.
If you contact us about privacy rights or questions, we may request information reasonably necessary to verify your identity before responding.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or request portability of your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with a competent supervisory authority.
9. Whether Data Is Required
Some data is required for AURAS to function, including account authentication data, microphone audio for real-time voice practice, language settings, conversation data needed to generate real-time responses, and product data needed to save Favorites and practice results.
If you do not provide required data or permissions, some parts of AURAS may not function.
Optional support communications are not required to use the core service.
10. Automated Decision-Making
AURAS uses AI systems to generate language practice conversation, explanations, and feedback-like practice support. These outputs are designed for language practice and do not produce legal, financial, medical, employment, credit, housing, or similarly significant decisions about you.
11. Children
AURAS is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.
If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal data to AURAS, contact us so we can take appropriate action.
12. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal data. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
13. Third-Party Services
AURAS may rely on third-party services, including Apple services, AI service providers, and infrastructure providers. Those third parties have their own terms and privacy practices, and we are not responsible for their independent practices.
14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we may provide notice through AURAS or another reasonable method.
